About Nakeyshaey:
While feeling misunderstood and abandoned, in 1992, Nakeyshaey learned that our society has an
overwhelming tendency to blame young people for its social ills and problems. Determined to overcome
her own trials as an emancipated foster youth and adolescent single parent, she vowed to get REAL and
get it together so that she could actively advocate for people who came from similar home and community
environments that she had come from. Today, she is affectionately known as the Hip-Hop Therapist™ -
The REAL Talk Coach. Since the age of 17, Nakeyshaey has actively worked with youth, families, and
community organizations that service youth and families throughout the United States and abroad.
Additionally, Nakeyshaey has used the knowledge, value, and skill that she has developed over the past 17
years to expound upon her personal and professional relationships to solidify a Speaking, Consulting,
Training, and Life Coaching career. Additionally, Nakeyshaey has developed several companies and
programs such as NMT Services, Young Mothers on the Move (YMOM), and The Young Professionals
Network (YPEN).

Enterprises (RTE). Established in 2004, the HHTP is a social and educational wellness entity that uses Hip-
Hop music and Culture, along with traditional therapeutic and educational concepts, to Engage, Educate,
Understand, Heal, and Unite those who embrace, embody, enjoy, and are most affected by Hip-Hop.
Additionally, HHTP recently established a foundation that supports non-profit organizations that utilize
Hip-Hop music and culture in their youth programming.
Established in 2007, RTE is a specialized Social Wellness Coaching, Training, and Consulting firm that
facilitate mature and REAL interventions designed to produce satisfying career and life adjustments for
youth, young adults, families, and the helping professionals that provide services to them. RTE developed
out of response to the lack of REAL dialogue around the REAL socioeconomic, legal, cultural, educational,
emotional, behavioral, and mental health issues that continuously impact youth, young adults, and people
of color. The key to RTE's success is a multi step PROCESS to PROGRESS system that fosters a REAL
connection with all participants and encourages them to receive and retain the REAL information that is
being offered. Additionally, RTE contends that our approach to practice allows for the freedom of
creative expression that engages participants in a way that one might not see during a traditional

Upon graduating from the Loyola University Chicago - School of Social Work, Nakeyshaey received a
Master of Science Degree in Social Work (MSW) with a concentration in clinical practice. Additionally,
she completed over 3500 supervised clinical hours in a two year and 1/2 post masters degree clinical
program. Nakeyshaey's clinical concentration focused on mental health and substance addiction issues
amongst youth, young adults, and families in disenfranchised communities. Also, Nakeyshaey has a
Masters Degree in Organizational Management and Development, a Certification in Training and
Development, a Certification in Life Coaching, Certified as Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) in
Milwaukee, WI; a Certification in Nurturing Parent Programming, and is a credentialed Clinical Social
Worker in the State of Wisconsin, as well as registered as a Associate Clinical Social Worker in the State
of California.
Throughout the past 15 years Nakeyshaey has worked as an advocate for youth and young adults in foster
care and delinquent programs. Additionally, she has worked with parents, teachers, youth workers, social
workers, churches, police, and community organizers in their understanding and development of their
knowledge, value, and skill in working with today's youth and young adults. Some of Nakeyshaey's
professional roles have been in Foster Care Administration, Organizational Development, Mental Health,
Program Direction, Psychotherapy, Supervisory, Training and Development, Social Therapy, Social Work,
and Case Management.
Also, over the past 8 years Nakeyshaey has maintained a private Counseling and Coaching practice that
emphasizes emotion and behavior management with individuals, couples, and families that need to get
REAL, Right, and READY to be all that they can be. Additionally, Nakeyshaey has added a new concept to
her practice entitled “Helping Professional Coaching”, which focuses on helping professionals who want to
boost/boast their helping skills and effectively engage the clients that they serve. Furthermore,
Nakeyshaey is a certified Continuation Education Unit (CEU) provider in the State of California for
licensed Clinical Social Workers and Marriage and Family Therapists through her company REAL Talk
Enterprises. Additionally, Nakeyshaey stays current with the trends in social work practice, with an
emphasis on child welfare and youth by attending policy forums, associations, and conferences.
Furthermore, Nakeyshaey gives back to the profession of social work by supervising MSW interns
through the University of Southern California (USC) - School of Social Work as a certified field faculty
instructor. Additionally, Nakeyshaey contracts and partners with a variety of Child Welfare agencies
throughout the Greater Los Angeles area and around the United States to facilitate a variety youth and
family centered social work services. Additionally, Nakeyshaey is often an invited guest lecturer at
colleges, universities, conferences, and associations throughout the United States and abroad. She has
delivered several keynote addresses both locally and nationally, as well as been a presenter at over 50
social work, marriage and family therapy, youth, and Hip-Hop conferences throughout the United States
and abroad, including South Africa, Canada, and Europe. Most recently, Nakeyshaey has joined forces
with international disc jockey, DJ Dodge, to create “Team Hip-Hop Therapy” for speaking engagements at

In 2005, Nakeyshaey was awarded the Dr. MLK Jr. Community Service and Leadership Award by Loyola
University. Also in 2005, she was awarded the Scholarship, Loyalty, and Service Award by Alpha Sigma
Nu. This honor was further commemorated with an induction into the National Jesuit Honor Society.
Additionally, Nakeyshaey is a current member and former Chairperson of the Multicultural Alumni
Resource Committee (MARC), which has supported, recruited, and retained students of color at Loyola
