The Hip-Hop Therapy Foundation (THHTF) is a 501 (c) 3 charitable
organization that promotes the arts of Hip-Hop and Therapy in a healing
capacity throughout communities around the world. THHTF also serves
as a social wellness resource for agencies, organizations, industries, and
communities that seek to reach out and engage youth and young adult
populations.
Our Mission:
It is the mission of THHTF to bring the "Executive Suites to the Streets" to
support organizations, globally, that use aspects of Hip-Hop music and
culture in their youth and community intervention programs, as well as
promote creative and healthy alternatives to social and emotional
healing.
Our Vision:
It is our vision to see the culture of Hip-Hop recognized and validated for
its positive contributions to the social, emotional, cultural, and economic
stature of our global society. Additionally, to continue to see Hip-Hop
used as a positive medium that embraces diverse ideals that are inclusive
of global ways of learning and reach contemporary diverse populations,
professions, and backgrounds that are supportive of our similarities,
experiences, as well as differences in all cultural environments.
Our Goals:
- To continue to originate new and fresh healing perspectives through
the arts of Hip-Hop and therapy.
- To support non-profit entities that embrace aspects of Hip-Hop
music and culture in their youth and community program and
services.
- To be a culturally sensitive catalyst for personal and collective
change by engaging, educating, and healing those who are most
affected by, embrace, embody, and enjoy Hip-Hip.
- To increase Hip-Hop’s educational and therapeutic value,
understanding, awareness, and appeal within our global society and
amongst helping professionals.
- To bridge gaps between generations of families and communities;
businesses and industries; and political ideologies, frameworks, and
agendas that have been impacted by Hip-Hop music and culture.
